Reggie said, ‘even though he appreciates the journey the movement has gone, he feels sad for not owning the patent or copyright to the biggest genre of music in the country and that would have made him more happy but back then the idea was to start a movement the mind of owning it legally never occurred’.
He continued by saying, he supports the trend now which he calls the transformational hiplife – Azonto. ‘the diversity of the genre is sending us very far, many think our Nigerian brothers are taking the shine but it is false because after he spoke to the management of Ludacris he realize that the world is looking at the small market in Ghana’.
Reggie noted: ‘we started this whole foreign collaborations, we had the biggest dancehall artiste – Bennie Man do a featuring with us, we had the Wycleff jean doing a full song with us so why jealous the Nigerians if they have now started. May be our media did not help us then but we here in Ghana are on the world map with our music that I can be proud of’.
He denied the fact that he supports the Azonto movement because of his Junior brother’s One Boxer azonto rave currently picking up and says ‘my love for the dance is awesome and that accompanies the music just like Hip Hop, it has a dance to jam with it.
Reggie Rockstone said he is a strong hip hop soldier but needed to be different that is why he brought the local feel to it hence if that local feel is growing in diverse ways, he salutes and welcomes it.
